Facebook users will be able to visit Hyundai's fan page, select and configure a vehicle, and post the model to their wall. In a take on "hot or not," shoppers comparing a Hyundai vehicle against another model can post the comparison on their wall, according to an insider familiar with the project, but it's not clear if there will be a vote-tallying mechanism. Land Rover Signals The Final Drive To Rugby World Cup 2011

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 29, 2011 - Friday 19th August 2011 – Land Rover has today signalled the final stage of their preparations for Rugby World Cup 2011 by handing over a special fleet of vehicles to the Tournament in an Official Vehicle handover ceremony at Eden Park Stadium, Auckland.

As Official Vehicle of Rugby World Cup 2011, Land Rover has provided 30 vehicles to organisers and officials. The fleet is made up of Range Rover Sports and Land Rover Discovery 4s and they will be used throughout the Tournament by RWCL and RNZ 2011. The vehicles have been specially customised with RWC 2011 branding, number plates and commemorative badging to celebrate the association throughout New Zealand.

City of Gresham, Oregon Expands Sustainability Program with Sensus Smart Grid for Water Technologies

Glass Doctor Sales Representative’s Quick Action Saves Customer's Life

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 22, 2011 - Something was wrong. She may not be a nurse or a doctor, but Auralee Nickels knew something wasn't right with the customer on the phone.

It started as a normal conversation; the customer saw a newspaper ad. Auralee, an inside sales representative for Glass Doctor of the Black Hills in Rapid City, S.D., made a little small talk with him and began scheduling the windshield replacement. It was a typical call until she asked for his address. The customer didn't know what street he lived on, but he remembered he'd lived there for 56 years.

"The more I talked to him, the more concerned I got," Nickels said. � raising chickens �He couldn't put a sentence together."

The customer started slurring his words and speaking gibberish. Was the customer crazy or drunk? Or did he just have a speech impediment? Auralee thought it seemed more serious than that. He was frustrated and started swearing at himself for not being able to speak properly. android application

Auralee didn't hesitate as she dialed the number for the sheriff's department. She had looked up the number while still on the phone with the customer, thinking he might be having a stroke. She knew he needed help fast.

But she only knew the customer's name, phone number and part of his address. She feared it wasn't enough.

In desperation, the sheriff's department reached out to area rescue teams. Luckily, a member of the fire department recognized the description. Paramedics rushed to the customer's home. ni ssan GTR specification ;

Meanwhile, Auralee held her breath until she heard from the fire department that the paramedics got her customer to the hospital in time to save him.

"It's the craziest thing that's ever happened to me," she said. "Another half hour and he wouldn't have been with us."

"I'm not really religious or anything, but something made him call me," she said. "Fate made him look at our ad."

•   Ecotech has 12 rooftop solar panels with a system capacity of 2.8 kilowatts. •   Eight small wind turbines are mounted on the roof to generate up to 4.8 kilowatts of electricity.

•   Energy efficient lighting reduces energy consumption by 30 percent below standard lighting energy levels. •   A measurement and verification system provides real time monitoring of the campus power, natural gas, and water consumption. This information is displayed in the lobby for visitors and is also recorded and used to determine further energy saving possibilities.

Water Aspects Improvements to the Ecotech building to make it the campus it is today reduced average water use by 30 percent.

•   Low-flow fixtures helped reduce water use from 1.6 gallons per flush to 1.28 gallons per flush for toilets. Low-flow fixtures also cut water use from 1.0 gallon per flush to 1/8 gallon per flush for urinals. •   Sensors on lavatory faucets also cut water use. While a faucet uses 0.5 gallon per minute, sensor-operated faucets cut that to 0.25 gallon per cycle in some lavatories.

Lighting Lighting is one of the primary uses for energy in buildings today. Some of the methods Ecotech uses to limit the amount of energy used by lighting include:

•   Motion sensors and a programmed schedule to limit lighting in unoccupied rooms. •   Classroom and office lighting have step-dimming options so that fixtures have multiple light levels – further increasing energy savings when lights are dimmed.

Other Resource Savings The campus includes four electric car-charging stations, capable of delivering a full charge to a vehicle in two to four hours. Ecotech's LEED gold certified building opened for classes in January 2011.  Currently about 250 students are taking classes at Ecotech and the first graduating class will receive their diplomas in July 2012.

'Stop War on Drivers' A simple, one stop, all issue, E-petition is launched

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 18, 2011 - The Drivers' Protest Union, a group set up to encourage UK drivers to unite for a fairer deal, has taken up the Government challenge- to obtain 100,000 signatories to guarantee a parliamentary debate on any issue- as a good way to encourage drivers to participate in a large scale demonstration of both their dissatisfaction and their unity.

The group believes that despite David Cameron's electioneering promise to 'End the war on the motorist' the 'war' has hotted up. There has been no let up in taxes,(fuel has been steadily rising), parking prosecutions have multiplied, Cameron is supporting a Bill to increase driver imprisonment when all other sentencing is being relaxed and his government now intend to make careless driving a fixed penalty offence because, according to Mike Penning, 'not enough drivers are being prosecuted for it'.

Keith Peat, the group's founder explains: 'Whilst we support the Fair Fuel E-petition, it is only on one single issue. I really cannot believe that it is beyond the wit of MPs and pol acura iticians to be discussing the economic effects of fuel taxes on the community unless they have a petition to tell them to do s corsa o. So what is the point of such a petition? In any case we have been here before and one thing is for sure; fuel will continue to go up in price since nothing ever comes down.' The D.P.U. sees the fuel campaign as a diversion from other serious driver issues like fraudulent & dangerous road safety, prosecutions, delay, poor speed limiting policy and all driver taxes.

'There is not much point in divisive single issue driver petitions.' Say D.P.U.

The group believes that It is far better to rally drivers to confront government with one, all issue, catch-all petition which includes all forms of taxation including fuel. Opal fuel - quality and performance tested

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 17, 2011 - Petrol sniffing is a highly dangerous form of substance abuse and destroys lives. Opal fuel which is a direct substitute for regular unleaded 91, has been specially designed to help discourage petrol sniffing.

Manufactured by BP Australia, Opal fuel was introduced to the Australian market in 2005. Designed with lower levels of aromatics; the properties associated with giving petrol sniffers a 'high,' Opal fuel meets all the specifications of the National Fuels Quality Standard Act 2000. A combination of laboratory and field tests undertaken since 2005 indicate that Opal fuel is safe for use in cars and boats in which the manufacturer recommends regular unleaded 91. Details of the testing and results observed are outlined in this fact sheet.

Laboratory testing on vehicles - 2004 As with all BP fuel products, thorough testing and control processes were undertaken to ensure the quality and performance of Opal fuel prior to its launch in 2005. This included independent laboratory testing at the Toyota Vehicle and Engine Testing Laboratory in Melbourne in October 2004. Three tests were undertaken on a Toyota Avalon 3.0 litre Autom goverment technology atic, a Ford Falcon Futura 4.0 litre Automatic and a Holden Commodore 3.5 litre Automatic.

Driveability test The driveability test measures the operation of a vehicle as perceived by a driver. It consists of assigning demerit points to vehicle performance characteristics that can be attributed to the fuel and that are not an acceptable part of vehicle operation. The three cars were driven on Opal fuel by trained assessors and demerit points were assigned for noted performance issues. At the end of the test the points were tallied and compared to the points recorded by the same assessors driving the same cars on regular unleaded 91. The report found that there was no significant difference between a vehicle running on Opal fuel and t ni ssan GTR specification ll-specification.html">bmw M5 specification 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible he same vehicle running on regular unleaded 91.

Tailpipe emissions Using ADR 79/00; the standard testing design rule for measuring tailpipe emissions; Opal fuel was compared to regular unleaded 91. Emissions measured were unburnt hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and oxides of Nitrogen (NOx). Using the average of three runs, the tailpipe exhaust emissions for a vehicle running on Opal fuel were equal to or less than the tailpipe emissions of the same vehicle running on regular unleaded 91. The only exception was the Avalon which showed an increase in NOx. There are exhaust emission benefits from using Opal fuel. Overall, the cars that were run on Opal fuel tested lower for regulated exhaust emissions.

Impact on air quality When vehicle exhaust air toxics were calculated using the USA EPA air toxics indicator model, air toxics were reduced by 45% when using Opal fuel when compared with using regular unleaded 91. Because of its formulation with less than 5% total of benzene, toluene, xylene and olefins, Opal burns very cleanly when compared to regular unleaded 91, helping to reduce air toxics. Typical vehicle exhaust air toxics indices for regular unleaded 91 are 19-22. Opal fuel showed 9-12, a reduction of 45% versus regular unleaded 91.

Fuel economy in cars Opal was tested for fuel economy in line with the testing standard ADR 81/01, and compared to regular unleaded 91. Testing showed a minor decrease in fuel economy in cars between Opal fuel versus regular unleaded 91. However the reported variation of 0.3 litres per 100km is within the normal variability for petrol grades and can vary depending on car maintenance and driving styles.
